Gujarat is especially known for its Saris. Many of these are intricately designed with in laid Zari work. The Patola Silk from Patan is famous and one of the biggest selling fabrics in some of the larger cities. It is famous for Bandhnis, traditional Gagra-Cholis are known to be excellent craftsmen, and there is a rich arsenal of arts and crafts at the government handicraft centres. Jamnagar is famous for its tie-and-dye fabrics and brightly coloured embroidery work.
Ahmedabad is a paradise for thos who love exclusive sarees, handicrafts, bedspreads, bandhanis,etc. The city is also famous for Zari embriodery.
Gurjari is the Gujarat state crafts emporium where one can look for some of the best products from not only Ahmedabad but also from Gujarat.
The SEWA or the self employed women's association offers hand printed fabrics and other textiles.
Ahmedabad is also a good place to look for traditional Jewellery. Look out for the Bandhej textiles. Gurjari Emporium and Handloom House on Ashram Road are great places to shop for Handicrafts. One can buy Handmade Paper from Sabarmati Ashram.
Law Garden area is the best place where one can shop for colourfull bedspreads, cushion covers table cloths, etc. One also gets colourfull Ghagara-Cholis designed in Rabari style with mirror work.

Premier shopping areas in Ahmedabad are C.G Road, Ashram Road, Law Garden and Relief Road.
The Khadi Gramudyog Emporiums, Hastkala, Kapasi Handicrafts Emporium, Saurashtra Emporium and Bandhej are some of the places where one can look for the cotton wear, handicrafts and other things which can be purchased.
