Calcutta
The former Capital of British India, Calcutta has been a home to many great people like Mother Teresa, Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekanand. The place has a range of things to offer to a shopper. To find some of the beautiful handicrafts and textiles, you can visit Rejugee Handicrafts, Cottage Industries, Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan and Bengal home industries. Rasgullas of Bengal are extremely famous.
Darjeeling
In the enchanting hill - station of Darjeeling, encompressed with a maze of coniferous trees are a number of exotic shopping market lane. The best place to find the handicrafts of West Bengal is the Manjusha Emporium, on Nehru Road. Along the same road you find exquisite carpets and beautiful rare objects. Kalimpong has a plethora of paster paintings. Bags, intricate wood carvings and many more items are sold at kalimpong arts and crafts. In the lanes and markets near Dambar Chowck you can find some exquisite Tibetan Jewellery.
