Kerala is a state on Indian tropical Malabar Coast. This city is well known for its beaches and backwaters. Kerala is famous for its ecotourism initiatives and backwaters. Also this state is famous for its abundance in culture, beauty and food.  There are so many things which attract people towards this state. Such as Kerala is the most literate city in India with 93.91% literacy. Also in Kerala, female ratio is more than male ratio. History of Kerala:

November 1, 1956 is the date when the modern state of Kerala has been formed. It was a memorable day for the people of Kerala. Kerala was formed after the independence by merging the Kingdom of Travancore, Kingdom of Zamorin and the princely state of Cochin.

Interesting cities/town to visit in Kerala:

·  Cochin: Kochi or Cochin is a commercial port city that has a trading history of more than 600 years. The other name of this city is “Queen of the Arabian Sea”. Also this city is the financial, commercial and Industrial capital of India. While visiting this city, you can visit Fort Kochi, Santa Cruz Basilica, Mangalavanam bird sanctuary and many more places.

·  Alleppey: Alleppey or Alappuzha is the city in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is well known for its wide network of backwaters and modernized ayurvedic resort. In Alleppey, you can enjoy your day at Houseboat cruises that pass through the backwaters, where you can see the green fields and also can witness the lifestyle of locals of Kerala.

·  Munnar: Munnar is a famous hill station of Kerala. This city is famous for its tea gardens, wide range of green fields. In other words, Munnar is suitably known as “Kashmir of South India”. While visiting Munnar, don’t forget to visit Eravikulam National Park, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and its tea plantations.

·  Periyar National Park: Periyar National Park and Wildlife sanctuary is the earliest sanctuary to be set up in 1934, it extends to 777 square kms & forms part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats. You can spot wildlife while cruising on Periyar Lake in a motor boat. As a traveler, I would like to recommend you to have a visit to this park as you will appreciate the beauty of this national park.

·  Thiruvananthapuram: Visit Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Reconstructed in 1733, it is an excellent example of South Indian architecture. You can also enjoy the visit to the Zoological Park (closed on Mondays), Napier Museum , Sri Chitra Art Gallery. (Closed on Mon/Wed mornings.)·  Kumarakom: Kumarakom is a village in the backwater of Kerala where a person can find peace and tranquility. It offers the beauty of nature and also gives a feast to the eyes of the nature lovers. If you are visiting Kumarakom, then don’t forget to visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary as it is a home place of many species like Siberian Storks, Cuckoos. If you ever plan to visit Kumarakom, then winters are the best time to visit and enjoy the beauty of this place.

Learning how to cook these delicious foods will give you a skill which you can take with you to your home. You can register yourself in a cooking class and learn how to make these mouth – watering food at your home.

·  Enjoy the Kathakali Performance: Kathakali is a very old dance form that is quite famous in Kerala. The dress that the performers wear in this dance form attracts a lot of people from all over the world. Also the performer needs to learn a lot of things while learning this dance form. Well if you are visiting Kerala, then enjoy this form of dance as it will give a different kind of experience.

If you are planning to visit Kerala, then make a plan from the month September to March as in this time period, Kerala offers you a pleasant and comfortable climate with less humidity.
