There are numerous museums in India that you can visit while having a trip to India<\/a>. Now let’s talk about some of the best museums in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Indian Museum, Kolkata:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Indian Museum located in Kolkata, West Bengal is one of the ancient museums of India and the ninth oldest museum in the entire world.  The other name of the museum is the \u201cImperial Museum\u201d<\/strong>. This museum was established in 1814 by the Asiatic Society of Bengal. Inside the museum, there is a display of skeletons, Armors, Mughal Paintings, and ornaments. Whenever you decide to visit Kolkata, I highly recommend you to explore this amazing museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. National Museum, Delhi:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The National Museum is one of the biggest museums in India and was built in 1949 and has a beautiful design. If you are visiting Delhi, I will suggest you have a visit to this amazing museum as here one gets to know about the various collections of Jewelry, paintings, decorative arts, and armors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interesting part is that here you will get to know about the lavish train coaches that were once utilized by the great kings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Chhatrapati Shivaji Vaastu Museum, Mumbai:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prince of Wales museum is also popularly known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. This museum was constructed in the 20th<\/sup> Century and was inaugurated in 1922 and is located in the South of Mumbai, on the MG road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also considered as a heritage building, the reason behind is its commendable architecture. In this museum, one can find the demonstration of wide collections of timeworn artworks, sculptures in its galleries. This museum is encircled by green gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A show is organized every day at this museum. This show is conducted both in English and Marathi Language <\/em>(A type of language which is spoken by Marathi people)<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note: The gate of the museum opens throughout the year except on Mondays and on all public holidays such as Jan 26<\/em>th<\/em><\/sup>, May 01<\/em>st<\/em><\/sup>, August 15<\/em>th<\/em><\/sup>, October 2<\/em>nd,<\/em><\/sup> and other public holidays. The museum\u2019s opening time is between 10:15 am and 06:00 pm The ticket counter closes at 05:45 pm.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Shankar International Doll Museum, Delhi:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At this time of smartphones, video games, and other sources of entertainment, the Shankar International Doll museum in Delhi still maintains its charm. This museum is not only attracting children and teenagers, but it attracts all age groups. There are around 7500 dolls on display in this museum. When I was in my teenage, this was one of my favorite places to visit in Delhi. In this museum, there are two sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One entire part of the museum is dedicated to some of the western countries such as the UK, New Zealand, Australia, and another section is exclusively for  African, Asian, and Middle East countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. National Rail Museum, Delhi:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This museum has a superb display of more than 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. It is located in Chanakyapuri. One can find a toy train within the museum and go around the open area as it offers rides daily. There are other collections as well in the museum such as relic furniture, working models, historical photographs, and many more collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The general public can visit the museum from 9:30 AM till  5:30 PM on any day of the week except on Mondays.
