The Betla National Park is located on the Chhota Nagpur Plateau, Palamau, West Ranchi. This national park situated on the hilly terrain covers around 979 sq. km, in which around 232 sq. km area is declared as National Tiger Reserve forest. This beautiful park was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year of 1973. In 1974, the tiger reserve forest came into existence. The Betla National Park was the first Tiger Reserve in India and converted into a National Park in 1986.
The park is very popular due to the availability of different flora and fauna species, now managed by the Forest Department of Jharkhand. Also, inside the park, you can

explore two forts, waterfalls, and hot springs. In this park, much tropical vegetation is available like Sal and Bamboo. Varieties of fauna are also available, like Tiger, Leopard, Wild Boar, Dhole, Pangolin, Four-Horned Antelope, Chital, Barking Deer, Bison, Elephant, Mouse Deer, Panther, Sloth Bear, Sambar, Langur, etc. Different types of birds are also present, like Hornbill, Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Black Partridge, White Necked Stork, Black Ibis, Swamp Grey, Quail, Pied Born Bill, Wagtails, Harial, Doves, Drongo, Crested Serpent-Eagle, Forest Owls, etc. Other tourist attractions are Elephant Safari, Jeep Safari, Watchtower, and many more.

The word ‘Dassam’ in Hindi means ten. Ten streams of water can be seen falling here and hence, the Dassam Falls is named so. The structure of the waterfall is such that it seems someone is pouring water. The water flows from a height of 44 meters (144 feet). The break in slope in the longitudinal portion of a river is called a nick point, and Dassam Falls is an example of a nick point of Kanchi River, a tributary of Subarnarekha River. Dassam Falls

is also known as Dassam Ghagh and a stunning landscape surrounds the area. A small, beautiful village named Taimara is located nearby.
The place is an epitome of ethereal natural beauty. The mesmerizing landscape and the calm atmosphere of the place attract tourists. The gushing echoes of the waterfall can be heard even from a distance. Though the water looks inviting, tourists need to keep in mind that this waterfall is not a safe spot for bathing.

Jonha Falls, also known as Gautamdhara Falls because of the presence of a Buddhist shrine nearby, is situated near the Jonha village and it is where it has got its name. Apart from its immense beauty, this waterfall also has a great religious significance as it is believed that Lord Brahma took a bath here. There is a rest house along with a temple located close by, which is dedicated to Lord Buddha. Atop the Gautam Pahar, there is a Buddha temple and ashram constructed by

the sons of Raja Baldevdas Birla.
The water in this fall gets accumulated from two rivers – Ganga and Raru. It is a hanging valley fall and the height of this waterfall is 43 m (141 feet). This somber looking waterfall creates an amazing ambiance, which is quite enjoyable. One of the major tourist attractions of this place is a weekly fair that takes place every Tuesday and Saturday. It is a very notable picnic spot and a great place to spend time with family and friends.

Jubilee Park is a man-made urban amusement park, also locally known as “Mughal Garden”, located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is a famous destination for picnic lovers, cyclists, joggers, outdoor games and activities, and many more. This gigantic park covers around 500 acres of area with a zoo, fountains, and various recreational activities, decorated with different types of lights, colorful barricades, flower gardens, stones, etc.

The highest peak in Giridih is situated at an altitude of 1350 meters, which is known by the name of Sri Sammeta Shikharji. after Parasnath, the 23rd Tirthankara. Separate shrines are created on the hilltop for each one of these Tirthankaras.
