Mahabalipuram is a beautiful town in Tamil Nadu embellished with ancient temples and monuments constructed in the 7th and 8th centuries by the kings of the Pallava Dynasty. In the morning you will visit this city, widely famed for the seven pagodas. In this town, on the seashore, you will find an interesting group of ancient temples, constructed by cutting and sculpting rocks and these temples depict the excellence of Dravidian style of architecture. You will have a night stay in Mahabalipuram.
In the morning, you will be driven back to Chennai from Mahabalipuram, visiting Kanchipuram on the way. Kanchipuram is 64 km away from Chennai. During the reign of the Pallavas, Kanchipuram was their capital and this city is famous for its 1000 temples and still has 124 shrines. In the 7th and 8th centuries, the first temple of Lord Shiva was constructed and its walls are adorned with beautiful paintings. The temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi, and Varadarajaswamy are very famed tourist destinations. Kanchipuram is also known to the world for its silks.
Later on, you will drive to Chennai and after your arrival in Chennai, you will be transported to the international airport for boarding the return flight. There will be no accommodation provided in Chennai.
