The exact location of this park is towards the northwest region of Karnataka's BandipurNational Park.The two national parks are separated by theKabini reservoir. This tiger reserve is named after the word ?Nagarahole?, which means Cobra River in the Kannada language. The word Naga implies a serpent and hole implies streams.
