The Bikaner camel festival is conducted annually in the month of January with great enthusiasm and participation in honour of the camels. These animals are not only known for surviving these harsh weather conditions but also known for their act of bravery. “Ganga Risala”, the camel corps, are also known for participating in the World War and many Indo-Pak wars. They are also known for being very loyal and supportive of the Border Security Force.
The camel festival is a two-day fest and starts with a magnificent camel parade against the backdrop of the gigantic Junagarh fort.
In this festival, there are hundreds and hundreds of camel participating. The camels are all dressed in colorful and attractive necklace and anklets dancing on the classic tunes of the land. Throughout the fest, there are many activities going on like camel race, dancing, and many other cultural performances.
At night, apart from star gazing, the sky is illuminated with some mesmerizing firework. In the land, there are beautiful souls showing of great dance steps on the flaming fire stones, folks enjoying great classical melodies and the very famous puppet show, wherein hand stuffed dolls all colored and decorated dance on the rhythm of the owner and depict a spectacular story.
This festival gives us a lifetime chance and experience to taste the camel milk made tea and sweets, which are very exotic and limited. This colorful festival of joy happiness and celebration is for a very short span, but people throughout the world don’t fail to take part in it. Thousands and thousands of people throughout the world come to visit this glorious festival.
