The rose festival is a major cultural event held every year at the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden in Chandigarh for many years and was established in the year 1947. It is now been celebrated every single year since then. The festival is celebrated each year in regard to pay tribute to the magnificence of the roses and nature altogether.
The Zakir Hussain rose garden hosts many other cultural events along with the rose garden festival. This is a botanical garden that was named after India’s former president Zakir Hussain. The garden is known to be the largest rose garden in Asia. This garden hosts not only roses but also other medicinal plants like bel, Behera, Harar, Camphor and many other useful plants. This garden grows about almost 1600 different species of rose-bushes.
