These 8 days are dedicated to the quest of snow leopard. The local guides will leave the camp before sunrise and position themselves on the best viewing slopes. These guides are proficient at plying in mountainous regions and they can cover a lot of ground in the search of snow leopards. After a lot of research, they will return and brief you that where you will base yourself for the rest of the day. The regions of Tarlung, Karlung, Hysing, and Rumbak are the main areas where you can find snow leopards. Our guides and zoological escorts will accompany you from the camp to the spotting slopes to and fro. You can continue your search if you want as one guide will continuously be spotting the snow leopards throughout the day. In the afternoon, our camp cook and assistant will prepare lunch for you and carry it up to wherever you are. We will switch to different locations and after sunset, we will begin spotlighting. In the search of snow leopards through spotlighting we will come across many red foxes, stone martens, and Bharals. On one night, we will trek towards the small village of Rumbak to explore the local Buddhist community. Here, you will get a chance to know about Buddhist culture and traditions. Here, you can spot some unusual birds, hares, mountain weasels, frozen glens, and paddocks. Now, we will travel to Ullay Valley where we will find Asiatic ibex. Snow leopards’ prey on these Asiatic ibexes, so here you can find some more snow leopards.
