Madhya Pradesh is home to two of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Shiva, which makes the central state of India an immensely important destination for a pilgrimage trip. Madhya Pradesh is quite the melting pot of religions, being the address of many important Hindu, Jain and Buddhist shrines. On this Madhya Pradesh pilgrimage tour package of three days, you will be covering Indore and Ujjain – the two cities where the two Jyotirlinga temples are situated and also see many other attractions that the cities have to offer.

A visit to the Omkareshwara shrine is schedule on the very first day, as well a glimpse of the Maheshwar Fort. The following day is all about visiting the different historical architectures of Indore, and ending the day with at your Indore accommodation. On the third and final day, pay visit to the second Jyotirlinga, Mahakaleshwar Temple and some other locations of spiritual significance.

Day 01 Arrival at Indore

After you arrive at the Indore airport or station, whichever you prefer, our tour operator will greet you and arrange for your transfer to your hotel in the city. After a change, wash and meal, you will be driven to Omkareshwara Temple or Omkar Mandhata Temple on the Mandhata Island, also called Shivpuri Island. The shape of this island is said to shaped like the Hindu Om symbol, heavily associated with Lord Shiva.

After you have offered your prayers and done with your puja, visit Maheshwar Fort or better known as, Ahilyabai Fort sitting above the sacred River Narmada. Queen Ahilya bai Holkar rebuilt this as her residence and office and ruled here from 1756 to 1769. You will be spending the night at your Maheshwar hotel.

Day 02 Maheshwar to Ujjain via Mandu

Leave Maheshwar after having breakfast in the hotel and drive towards Ujjain via the old city of Mandu. Mandu or Mandavgad is a part of the Malwa region and was once an enriched city of MP. It is home to the Mandu Fort said to be India’s biggest, which you will visit as well. A little distance from the fort, Jahaz Mahal resembling a ship, is also there on your itinerary.

Next on your Madhya Pradesh pilgrimage tour package, you will be taken to some more attractions near Mandu, like Hindola Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Hoshang Shah Tomb, Jami Masjid, Roopmati Pavilion and Baz Bahadur Palace. Hosheng Shah is believed to be the first Islamic ruler of Malwa. Reach Ujjain for overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 03 Ujjain sightseeing

The most important destination in Ujjain is the other Jyotirlingam, Mahakaleshwar Temple, located by the holy Rudra Sagar Lake. Ujjain is a hotspot for many religious shrines. Next, set foot in the premises of Siddhi Temple, Mangal Nath Temple, Gopal Mandir and Kal Bhairav Temple located by the Shipra River. Kal Bhairav is considered as the guardian of the city of Ujjain and visited by thousands. Ram Ghat by the same river is also a revered site for holy baths and photographing Hindu ceremonies.

Later, drive back to Indore and wait for your respective transportation back home. Our agents will make sure you reach the airport or the station in time for your flight or train.
