Rejoice and get excited as you are going to start off with the most luxurious journey ahead. Welcome aboard the Deccan Odyssey – the synonym for royal treatment. You will be picked from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus around late afternoon where you will complete your registration process and the other formalities before boarding the Maharashtra Wild Trail journey.

Get greeted with a traditional Indian style of welcoming before being served with refreshing welcome drink as you are guided to your cabins. Settle down and gear up as your journey with Deccan Odyssey starts from Mumbai towards Ellora Caves.

Take a leisurely breakfast and spend the morning your own way relaxing onboard. You can enjoy a relaxing spa or work out in the gym to warm up for the day ahead. The Deccan Odyssey will arrive at Aurangabad and you would be taken to visit the famous Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site after a city trip of Aurangabad. The visit to places like explore the Daulatabad Fort, Bibi-ka-Maqbara and the city's 52 gates is a treat to the eyes and enlightenment towards the history and heritage of the places.

Have an early lunch before being driven to the Ellora Caves nestled on a basaltic hill 30 km from the city with a surrounding full natural beauty offering a retreat to the mind and soul. Ellora Caves is famous for its 34 rock-cut shrines representing Buddhist, Jain and Hindu art that date back to the 4th-5th century AD. Among the caves, the most prominent one is the Kailash Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is an epitome of architectural marvel of that era.

Up next is the Daulatabad Fort treasuring the ruins of Buddhist caves since as long as 100 BCE. After exploring this spot, come back to the Deccan Odyssey to freshen up. You would be heading towards the city once again during dinner after which you would return onboard for overnight.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and start off for city exploration of Aurangabad. This morning would begin with places like Bibi-ka-Maqbara, the mausoleum of Dilras Banu, Aurangzeb's wife, and a replica of the Taj Mahal at Agra (Taj of the Deccan).

After covering these destinations, you will be taken to a facility that specializes in the famous Himroo fabric of Aurangabad. The fabric and the tradition to make it have been associated with the place since the 14th century and stands out for its exclusive weaving in gold and silver threads that was once popular in the royal court.

Return onboard for lunch and enjoy the rest of your afternoon in activities like spa and gym as your train sweeps past the enchanting beauty of Maharashtra making its way to Ramtek for Pench National Park as your next destination.

Wake up before dawn as the Deccan Odyssey pulls into Ramtek for your rendezvous with nature at the amazing Pench National Park. Get spoiled for choices as you take a stroll amidst the lush green vegetation, beautifully balanced with well defining hills, valleys and the occasional precipitous slopes. The national park is famous for its rich variety of flora and fauna, and a satisfactory variety of aquatic life.

After a thrilling game drive across Pench, return to Deccan Odyssey for a luxurious lunch. Once done, disembark again in the afternoon for another round of adventure into the wild of Pench. Get bewildered with the variety of birdlife – both resident and migratory, and a wide variety of trees and plantation to soothe your eyes with.

Spend an exciting day at Pench before being driven back to Ramtek station to board your train. Have a lavish dinner onboard as Deccan Odyssey makes the next move off to Tadoba – the land of mighty tigers.

Gear up for an early morning safari into the Tadoba Tiger Reserve as the Deccan Odyssey enters Chandrapur station. Begin your expedition with the tigers at Tadoba. You will get ample of opportunities for close encounters with tigers, wild dogs, leopards, sloth bears, Indian bisons, the rusty spotted cats, ratels, several species of deer, wild pigs and many more animals.

Take a late breakfast at the Tiger Trails Lodge after which your day is at leisure. You can relax, watch a wildlife documentary and get into an interaction with our naturalist to learn more about the Indian jungles and its flora and fauna.

You will be served lunch at the same lodge before being driven back to board the Deccan Odyssey at Chandrapur station. In the evening, get treated with cocktails as your relax and enjoy the sights outside followed by a lavish dinner before retiring to your cabins for the much-needed rest.

Spend overnight onboard as your train speeds towards Jalgaon where you would discover the magnificent Ajanta Caves.

Reach Jalgaon Station and get down after having breakfast onboard. You will be driven to the Ajanta Caves – a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous worldwide for its spellbinding architectural excellence. The rock-cut Buddhist caves numbering in a total of 30 are a masterpiece and visual treat for their sculptures and paintings based on Buddhist art collaborating Hindu faith beautifully.

Once you have explored the magical beauty of Ajanta Caves, return onboard for lunch as your train proceeds towards Nashik. The rest of the day is at leisure to experience some of the interesting activities available onboard. You may watch a movie, play some indoor games (carrom for example), or try a relaxing massage session in the spa. Don’t forget to miss out the tapestry of rural India as it unfolds outside your windows. Enjoy these with a sip of Sundowner before your dinner is being served onboard.

Spend overnight in the Deccan Odyssey to travel to the next wing of your tour package.

Reach the ancient holy city of Nashik, which is also known as the wine capital of the country. Have your breakfast and disembark to take a stroll along the Godavari Ghats to catch multiple Hindu rituals being practiced. Visit to the local market where you will get practically everything from fruits, vegetables, seafoods and even cow dung cakes.

After exploring these places, you will be heading towards the Grover Zampa Vineyards to travel around one of the finest Indian wine producing facilities famous for Chenin, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Learn about the age old “method traditionnelle” used to make one of the top-notch sparkling wines in India. Be a wine taster and get your tastebuds acquainted with the fine quality white, red, rose and sparkling wines. Try experimenting with the same when lunch will be served at the vineyards.

Come back to the Deccan Odyssey as it sets ahead to reach Mumbai, the last destination of the tour. The rest of the day is at leisure before spending overnight onboard.

Have an early breakfast before reaching Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai where you will disembark. The royal journey comes to an end as you bid goodbye to the Deccan Odyssey.
