Day 01 Cochin Arrival

The first day of the trip is at Cochin, stay at Coconut Lagoon resort. You will be taken to a sunset cruise on The Rice Boat for dinner which is an experience by itself. Tantalize your taste buds with local sweet-water fish or exotic ocean catch.

Day 02 Cochin

The next morning, you would be taken for a short cruise to “Philip Kutty’s Farm” for breakfast. The place is a small homestead located on an island famous for cultivation of various tropical fruits and vegetables. There would be a small demo for simple home cooking. Coming back to Coconut Lagoon resort, get yourself involved in a backwater food and cooking demo which would be followed by lunch. Take rest post lunch or explore within the resort. Evening is for a cultural show followed by dinner in the hotel.

Day 03 Cochin

This is a special day to peep into and try the traditional food culture of the place. After you are done with your breakfast, introduce yourself with “sadhya” and know how it is prepared. Sadhya is a vegetarian wedding feast which would be served as lunch for the day. The food is served on banana leaves and is eaten by hand. Evening is at leisure for cultural show and followed by dinner in the hotel.

Day 04 Cochin -Periyar

Have your breakfast and get ready to proceed to Periyar – the village known for spice cultivation. The picturesque village surrounded by small cottages amid the spice gardens is among the most beautiful places of Kerala. Check-in to the hotel and have your lunch, post which you would be taken for a boat safari in the Lake Periyar. Dinner and overnight stay are at Periyar.

Day 05 Periyar

The next morning is for sightseeing. Visit the Spice Plantation and Tea Plantation areas. Come back, have lunch and rest of the afternoon is for leisure. Cooking demonstration on “cooking with spices” is scheduled for the evening. Dinner would be served in the resort Overnight at Periyar.

Day 06 Periyar

Get up early and gear up for an early morning tour around Spice Village – one of the main attractions of the place. You would be shown and familiarized with the variety of spices growing locally in the village. Have your breakfast post the visit to Spice Village. There would be another cooking demo set for the day followed by lunch. Late afternoon, you would be taken for a walking tour of Kumily which attracts tourists for its cool refreshing climate. Take a walk down the spice shops for freshly grown spices. Have dinner and spend overnight in hotel at Periyar.

Day 07 Periyar - Cochin

Have your breakfast and proceed to Cochin. You would be taken to the plantation bungalow for a halt. Have a typical home lunch here. Proceed to Cochin. Have dinner and stay overnight at Cochin hotel.

Day 08 Cochin

Have an early breakfast and get ready for a city tour of Cochin that includes the ancient Spice Market at Mattan cherry and Chinese Fishing Nets to begin with. The next spot is Brunton Boatyard where you would take the “History” lunch that includes 32 cuisines from different communities residing in Cochin. Post lunch, come back and enjoy casino. You would be invited for Kathakali performance in the evening followed by dinner.

Day 09 Cochin

Spend the day treating yourself and your taste buds with various Kerala cuisines from hands-on experience with hotel. Afternoon is at your own leisure. Devour in a farewell dinner at night.

Day 10 Departure Cochin
