Day 01 Arrival in Chennai

On the day of your arrival in Chennai, you will be transferred to your hotel. Chennai has numerous places of interest and beautiful museums. Hence, it is essential to plan your trip. You can design your trip on your first day in Chennai. The first day marks the beginning of your holiday in South India. The overnight will be in Chennai.

Day 02 Chennai

The Chennai trip finally kicks off on the second day of the tour. On the second day of your journey, you will be taken around Chennai for visiting various places of interest. The Government of Museum of 1857, the Bronze Gallery, San Thome Basilica are few of the areas that you will be taken to while driving through the Flower and Fruit market, High Court, Marina Beach, and other exciting areas. You will spend the afternoon at leisure. The stay during the night will be in Chennai.

Day 03 Chennai to Kanchipuram to Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry (235 km)

On the third day of your trip, you will proceed for a visit from Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The Kanchipuram journey will take you through some of the known temples such as the Siva temple, Ekambareswarar temple, Sri Kailasanathar Temple, Sri VaradarajaPerumal Temple, the Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple, etc. After your journey through these two cities, you will proceed by road to Pondicherry. The overnight stay will be in Pondicherry.

Day 04 Pondicherry to Tanjore to Trichy by road (230 km)

On your fourth day of the trip, you will be driven to Tanjore or Thanjavur. You will get to visit the Brihadeshwara Shiva Temple. The other places of interest that you will be taken to include the Thanjavur Maratha Palace and the SaraswatiMahal Library. Upon your sightseeing in Tanjore, you will be taken to Tiruchirapalli by the road where you will put up for the night.

Day 05 Tiruchirapalli to Madurai by road (135 km)

The morning tour of Tiruchirapalli will take you to the Danish Church and Rock Fort. You can move around this fort cum temple complex and enjoy the architectural magnificence of the historical era. Once your tour of Tiruchirapalli is over, you will be driven to Madurai. You will spend the rest of your night in Madurai.

Day 06 Madurai to Kanyakumari (244 km)

The entire sixth day is meant for a tour of Madurai. The sightseeing in Madurai includes Meenakshi Temple, TirumalaNayak Palace, Alagar Hills, and TiruparaKundran Rock Temple. The day would be spent seeing the pillars with life-like features in the Hall of the Meenakshi Temple and the mysterious pillars in the outermost corridors that consist of musical pillars. The afternoon will be spent in Madurai. Once the Madurai tour is complete, you will be driven to Kanyakumari where your overnight is due.

Day 07 Kanyakumari to Alleppey (235 km)

The seventh day of the Chennai trip will start with the much-awaited tour of Kanyakumari. You will be ferried to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial where you will be greeted by the 133 feet tall statue of the Tamil saint-poet, Thiruvalluvar. You can enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset that greets the residents of Kanyakumari every day. From there on you will be driven to Alleppey where you will board a houseboat. In the morning you will be shifted to Alappuzha, previously called Alleppey. You can enjoy the unforgettable experience on the cruise in the backwaters. At Kuttanad, you will board a houseboat in Kerala’s backwaters. The trip from Alleppey to Kumarakom houseboat trip is particularly interesting as you will encounter villages in your journey. Your overnight stay will be on the houseboat.

Day 08 Alleppey to Kochi by road (53 km)

On the eighth day of your trip, you will be driven from Alleppey to Kochi. You can enjoy the rich culture of the city while going around the town and the impressions that have been left on the history of Kochi by the Arabs, Portuguese, British, Dutch, and everyone else who set foot in the city. The evening will be the perfect time for you to enjoy a Kathakali dance show. Since there is so much to see in Kochi, you can retire to your lodge early in the evening to pursue your journey later the next day. You will spend the night in Kochi and resume your journey in the morning.

Day 09 Kochi

The ninth day of the trip is reserved for the morning city tour of Kochi. You will be taken to some of the famous spots in Kochi which include the Portuguese churches, mosques, and temples tour along with the Jewish synagogue. You will also get a chance to see the Chinese style fishing nets which are usually seen in Kerala. While you can take the afternoon off and have some rest, you have the option of visiting some of the other popular destinations in Kochi. You can visit the Kochi Fort, Hill Palace, Marine Drive, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi International Marina, Cherai Beach, etc. Visiting these added places can be very tiresome; therefore, you will spend your night at Kochi and resume your journey the next day.

Day 10 Kochi to Ooty by road (274 km)

The tenth day of your Chennai trip awaits you with a lot of traveling around that you will have to do. Today you will be driving from Kochi to Ooty or Udagamandalam. The Nilgiri Mountains or the Blue Hills are the favorite tourist destination in Ooty. Other than that you can enjoy a boating session at the Ooty lake. The Government Rose Garden, St. Stephens Church, and the Thread Garden are other popular tourist destinations that you will be taken to. However, there is a lot to see in Ooty, and you will resume your tour of the city the next day. You will stay overnight at Ooty.

Day 11 Ooty

You will have an entire day to explore the beautiful city of Ooty. You can enjoy the natural beauty that the town offers like the mountains, lakes, forests, grasslands, miles of tea gardens and eucalyptus trees. Some of the places that you will be taken to on the eleventh day of your trip include the Wax Museum, Tribal Museum, Deer Park, etc. The Mettupalayam to Ooty rail journey will give you a spectacular view of the Nilgiris. You will stay overnight in Ooty.

Day 12 Ooty to Mysore by road (125 km)

After your two-day stay at Ooty, you will drive from Ooty to Mysore. You can enjoy seeing the numerous palaces that this city of palaces consists of, and appreciate the vibrant art and culture of the ancient ages. Due to the rich cultural heritage that Mysore is home to, it isn’t easy to get a tour of the entire city in one day. You can rest and make further plans for your journey. You will stay in Mysore for the night and pick up on your trip the next day.

Day 13 Mysore Bangalore by road (143 km)

You will begin the morning city tour of Mysore with a trip to the Mysore palace. The arches, domes, turrets, colonnades, and sculptures will truly amaze you. From there you can visit the art gallery. A drive to the Chamundi hill will lead you to the Chamundeshwari Temple. From the mountain, you will be greeted by the panoramic view of the city of Mysore. While you are on your way back to Mysore, visit the Nandi bull.

The afternoon is free in Mysore. However, you can visit the Krishnarajasagar dam and the Brindavan Gardens. You can also take a stroll to any local Mysore market and look for the “Mysore silk” if you want, as Mysore is home to these fabrics. You will later drive to Bangalore where you will spend the rest of the night.

Day 14 Bangalore

The final day of your journey from Chennai to Bangalore will take you to important places of interest in Bangalore. Significant tourist spots in Bangalore include Lal Bagh and Maharaja’s Palace. You will come across numerous temples during your morning tour of Bangalore. The trip to Lal Bagh will give you a tour of the most extensive collection of tropical plants, with over a thousand species of flora and trees over a hundred years old. The trip to the Bangalore Palace will help you draw out the similarities with the Windsor Castle in England. After that, you can drive past various government buildings and report to the airport in time for your return flight.
