This will be the last day of the Tea Tasting Tour. After having an early breakfast, you will leave for a guided city tour of Delhi. The first sightseeing spots will be the cremation and commemoration sites of important political figures like father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who was cremated at Raj Ghat.
Jawaharlal Nehru, the 1st prime minister of India, whose cremation site is at Shanti Vana. You will also visit one of India’s largest mosques, the Jama Masjid and drive past attractions like ChandniChowk famous for its street food and the Red Fort.
You will get a glimpse of the rich history surrounding Delhi as you visit QutubMinar, a 73 meter tall minaret that was constructed in the 12th century by the king Qutub-ud-Din Aibek. You will also visit the tomb of a powerful Mughal Emperor Humayun who was the father of Akbar, the most famous Mughal Emperor. This is a 16th century monument constructed in remembrance of the great king. From here, you will proceed towards India Gate, Delhi’s most famous tourist attraction. This gate or arch has been constructed as a war memorial and has the name of several martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Then you will visit a modern Hindu temple called Birla Mandir or Lakhminarayan Temple. The city tour will also take you past RashtrapatiBhavan, the residence of the President of India, Parliament house, the Government Secretariat buildings and the infamous large shopping complex known as Connaught Place that houses everything from street food vendors to high end brand outlets and multi cuisine restaurants.
As the sunset will begin to approach, you will be transferred to the international terminal of Delhi Airport where you will board the flight to your homeland. You will leave this land of cultural diversity with happy memories and unique experiences that will definitely be worth sharing.
