Day 01 Arrival in Delhi

Your flight will land at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IATA: DEL) in Delhi, the capital of India. A representative of ours will receive you at the arrivals gate and you will then transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Delhi is the national capital and home to many famous monuments. It is also revered for its nightlife, several cuisines one can try from street food to fusion and continental. It has been renamed as Delhi NCR, where NCR stands for National Capital Region.

Day 02 Delhi to Guwahati; Guwahati to Addabarie Tea Estate

Next morning, you will check out from the hotel and drive to the airport to board the flight for Guwahati, Assam. You will land at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (IATA: GAU) in Guwahati. You will meet another representative of ours at the arrival gate who will guide you to the vehicles that will transfer you to Addabarie Tea Estate. After reaching the estate, you will check-in to your room and freshen up after a long day of travel. Then you will enjoy your evening by sipping fresh tea from the estate and have a wonderful dinner at the “First Flush Dinner Pavilion”. Overnight stay at the tea estate.

Day 03 Addabarie Tea Estate

After having a fulfilling breakfast, we will visit the Addabarie Tea Factory where you will understand the whole process of tea manufacturing. You will get the opportunity to all stages of this process like crushing, tearing and curling of the tea leaves. We will then return to the tea estate to have a unique experience of having lunch inside the tea plantation, surrounded by the tea plants. This will truly exemplify your experience of a Tea Tasting Tour.

After lunch and some relaxation, we will head to the Rangapara Monastery situated nearby and try to practice tantric meditation with the Rinpoche for some peace of mind. We will return back to the accommodation before dinner time. Dinner and overnight stay at the tea estate.

Day 04 Addabarie Tea Estate

After breakfast, we will go for an excursion to the traditional Mishing or Mising village in Balipara. The community of this village originated in Tibet and Mongolia and the people settled in Assam in the 8th century. Now, it is the second largest ethnic group in Assam. The Mirizen shawls and blankets made by the Mising women on handlooms from cotton and silk are quite famous. The male members of the Mising families are hard workers and focus all their efforts on cultivation and fishing.

As we will be spending the entire day with the community, you will get to experience the culture and lifestyle of the Mising people like dairy farming, fishing in rivers and rivulets, farming, and sericulture or the rearing of silk worms to produce raw silk. You can also attempt a bit of handloom weaving at the local handicrafts center. Today, we will have an ethnic lunch prepared by the Mising women before we head back to the Wild Mahaseer. The rest of the day is free for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Addabarie.

Day 05 Addabarie Tea Estate

We leave early in the morning for a wildlife safari in Nameri National Park in Tezpur. This national park is home to several animals like the Indian elephants, Royal Bengal Tiger, Indian wild bison, leopard, jaguar, clouded leopard, muntjac or barking deer, wild boar, sloth, Himalayan black bear and Indian giant squirrel. We then visit the ancient Mahabhairab or Mahabhairav temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been constructed between the 8th and 10th Century A.D. The Haleshwar Hindu Temple and Agnigarh are the next attractions we visit. The Agnigarh hillock has mythological significance and is rumoured to have been constructed by an ancient king to keep his daughter in isolation. Some stories also say that this fortress had a perimeter where a continuous fire kept burning to keep intruders away.

We will have lunch in Tezpur and return to Addabarie. In the evening, you will head out on an elephant safari that will take you through farmland, bamboo groves, local villages, river beds and babbling brooks and after sipping refreshing tea at the Tea Elephant Trek, you will head back to the lodge whether by a car or you can choose to return on Elephant back as well. Today’s dinner and overnight stay at Wild Mahaseer.

Day 06 Addabarie Tea Estate to Guwahati; Guwahati to Delhi

After having breakfast, you will head out to the experimental organic cultivation station and naturenomics sustainability park located inside the tea estate itself. Here you will learn about various components of organic and sustainable cultivation like vermicomposting, wastewater management, dairy and poultry farming, apiary management and organic bio pesticide formulation.

After you return from the park, you will check out from the hotel and carry a packed lunch as you leave for Guwahati. You will have your lunch en route in the vehicle itself. You will be dropped off at Guwahati International Airport where you will board your flight back to Delhi. Our representative will meet you at the arrivals terminal and you will transfer to the hotel. After checking-in, you have the rest of the day free. Dinner and overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 07 Delhi Local sightseeing; Departure

This will be the last day of the Tea Tasting Tour. After having an early breakfast, you will leave for a guided city tour of Delhi. The first sightseeing spots will be the cremation and commemoration sites of important political figures like father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who was cremated at Raj Ghat.

Jawaharlal Nehru, the 1st prime minister of India, whose cremation site is at Shanti Vana. You will also visit one of India’s largest mosques, the Jama Masjid and drive past attractions like ChandniChowk famous for its street food and the Red Fort.

You will get a glimpse of the rich history surrounding Delhi as you visit QutubMinar, a 73 meter tall minaret that was constructed in the 12th century by the king Qutub-ud-Din Aibek. You will also visit the tomb of a powerful Mughal Emperor Humayun who was the father of Akbar, the most famous Mughal Emperor. This is a 16th century monument constructed in remembrance of the great king. From here, you will proceed towards India Gate, Delhi’s most famous tourist attraction. This gate or arch has been constructed as a war memorial and has the name of several martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Then you will visit a modern Hindu temple called Birla Mandir or Lakhminarayan Temple. The city tour will also take you past RashtrapatiBhavan, the residence of the President of India, Parliament house, the Government Secretariat buildings and the infamous large shopping complex known as Connaught Place that houses everything from street food vendors to high end brand outlets and multi cuisine restaurants.

As the sunset will begin to approach, you will be transferred to the international terminal of Delhi Airport where you will board the flight to your homeland. You will leave this land of cultural diversity with happy memories and unique experiences that will definitely be worth sharing.
