Odisha has been the land of art and crafts for many centuries, as it has abundant natural resources. This 10 days textile tour of Odisha takes you various locations and villages, which are famous for their different textile products. Here you will see different types of craft like weaving arts, brass metal craft, bamboo crafts, stone carving, silver filigree arts, ikat prints, and many more. You will also visit some of the important tourist destination and temples including the Chilika lake.

Day 01: Arrival at Bhubaneswar airport

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, you will meet with our airport representative, who will assist you from the Airport to your pre-booked hotel and he will also brief you about your tour.
Later if time permits you, you can follow the half day city tour including the famous temples like Rajarani, Mukteswar, and Brahmesar and Lingaraj.
Rajarani Temple is one of the most renowned and famous temples located near to Lingaraja Temple and it is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It was built in the 11th century and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Rajarani temple also called a love temple, because it contains the erotic carvings of couples and women. Next visit to Mukteshwara temples which is also dedicated to Lord Shiva and it was built in the 10th century by the king of Somavamshi Dynasty. It is famous for its Kalinga style of architecture. Then you will be taken to Lingraja and Brahmesar temple, which was built in the 11th Century. It has been described as one of the finest examples of pure Hindu Temple. This temple is divided into four major parts, The Garba Griha (main sanctum), the hall of prayers, the hall of music and dance, the Bhoga (where devotees can get the Prasad of the Lord)
After visiting these temples come back to the hotel.

DAY 02: Bhubaneswar –Cuttack – Bhubaneswar (100kms)

Post breakfast you will have full-day excursion to of Cuttack and it is located on the bank of Mahanandi River just 30km north from Bhubaneswar. It is famous for silver filigree work. Cuttack is considered as the judicial capital of Orisha because the high court is located here. It is also known as the silver city due to its history of 1000 years. On arrival, you will be taken to a unit where craftsmen will be working. Here you will get a chance to have looked at their silver filigree work art. You can also visit some shops to purchase silver jewelry and ornaments.
Next, you will be visiting Odisha State Mari Time Museum. It is the best attraction site in the millennium city Cuttack. It was a workshop to make a new riverboat and repair old riverboat during the British era. This workshop was renovated many times and finally 2013 it was converted into a Mari Time Museum. It has 10 galleries that exhibit ancient Odisha’s famed maritime industry including the old tool used to repair boat and old navigation systems and its evolution. The main attractions are the wooden boat replicas, which was the largest during its time. For the kids, there is 3D shows and aquarium section.

Later you will be visiting Anshupa Lake which is one the largest freshwater lake in Odisha. It is located 50kms west from Cuttack city just a few km from Mahanadi River. During the rainy season, it is full of water which makes it beautiful sight and in winter you will see many species of migratory birds. Boat ride facilities are also available in this lake. You can also visit an ancient fort, from the top of the fort you can see a panoramic view of the lake. Evening back to your hotel.

DAY 03: Bhubaneswar – Chilika Lake ( Mangalajodi) by road (90km/ 2-3hrs approx.)

Post breakfast check-out from your hotel and drive by road to Chilika lake, on the way you will be visiting Olasingh Textile village.
Olasingh village is a quaint little village, which is famous for its textile and weavers. It is also popular for Tiger mask dance. Here you will explore the local village by walking and first you will be taken to the local handloom unit. Here you can buy traditional saris, bed cover table linen, and other home decorating products. Here you will interact with local people and weavers. A short demonstration tour will give more information about their life and work.
On arrival at Manglajodi and you will check-in your hotel. It is a small village which is located on the northern banks of Chilika lake. A community of local people owned and managed wildlife conservation ventures here, which is become a famous ecotourism destination. It is also a paradise for bird lovers, during the winter it hosts more than 03 lakh birds in its marshy waters.
Later take a boat cruise on Chilika lake where you will explore wildlife and can take some beautiful photographs of migratory birds.

DAY 04: Chilika – Gopalpur by road (130kms /3-4hrs approx.)

Post breakfast drive by road to Gopalpur, on the way you will be visiting Berhmapur cluster and Later continue drive to Gopalpur.
Gopalpur is an ancient commercial port and it was used for trading to southeast Aisa country like Burma (Myanmar). Now it is famous for its beach and the annual Gopalpur beach festival is held here.
On arrival, you will check-in your hotel and relax or you can explore the Gopalpur beach, Gopalpur light house.

DAY 05: Gopalpur – Sonepur by road 300kms/ 6-7hrs approx.

Post breakfast drive by road to Gopalpur, on the way you will be visiting Berhmapur cluster and Later continue drive to Gopalpur.
Gopalpur is an ancient commercial port and it was used for trading to southeast Aisa country like Burma (Myanmar). Now it is famous for its beach and the annual Gopalpur beach festival is held here.
On arrival, you will check-in your hotel and relax or you can explore the Gopalpur beach, Gopalpur light house.

DAY 06: Sonepur – Baragarh by road (80kms/2hrs approx.)

Early morning enjoy a boat ride in Mahanadi River and explore the temples, which are built on the confluence of River Mahanadi and River Tel.
After the breakfast drive by road to Baragarh and en-route visit silk weaving markets at Barapali. Here you will find more than 1000 handlooms spread various pockets of clusters and every cluster has located at 05 kilometer at a distance. These weavers are known for their original double ikat prints on cotton and Tussar Silk. Recent years Machine-aided printing is damaging the handicraft and handloom markets, so there governments are improving the condition of weavers and promoting handicraft and handloom business by their Cluster Development program.
After visiting the silk market continue drive to Baragarh and check-in your hotel.

DAY 07: Baragarh – Sambalpur by road (50kms/ 2hrs approx. )

Post breakfast drive by road to Sambalpur and it is located 50km north from Baragarh near to the Hirakud Dam. It is famous for its Sambalpuri silk sarees. It has a rich and prosperous tradition of Handicraft and handloom industry, which has good demand worldwide.
On arrival you will check-in your hotel and later you will take a boat ride at Hirakund Dam in the river Mahanandi. Later you will visit Nehru Park, Gandhi Minar, Jawahar Minar, and Deer Park.

DAY 08: Sambalpur –Dhenkanal by road (250kms/ 5-6hrs approx.)

Post breakfast you will check-out from your hotel and drive early for Dhenakanal via Anugul. On arrival you will check-in your hotel and later visit a small tribal village, where you can interact with local people and take some photographs. Next visit Jaranda Gandhi. Joranda Gandhi temple is built in a located where three villages meet and it is dedicated to the supreme lord. After visiting, return back to Dhenkanal.

DAY 9: Dhenkanal -Nuaptna- Bhubaneswar by road (110kms/ 3-4hrs approx.)

En-route you will stop at Sadeibareni Dhokra craft village. This village is famous for its bell metal artwork, which is also called Dokra art. Here you will see the lost wax technique (without using any machine), which was the oldest and most advanced method of metal casting known to human civilization. It was believed that this technique was used in Mohenjodaro civilization. Here you will see beautiful metal statues of god, goddess, and daily essentials like thalis, bowl, and glasses. These craftsmen are also expert to make the temples deities and associated ritual objects like bells, lamps which are made by the brass metal.
Later continue drive to Bhubneswar en-route visit Nuapatna, which is famous for silk sarees. It is a village which is famous for silk and cotton textiles. The weavers are experts to make a striking range of Sarees with a brilliance, glaze, and texture that is unmatched. Here you can visit Nuapatna weavers co-operate society, that brings together hundreds of craftsmen under one roof. You can purchase some beautiful sarees here at a nominal price. On arrival you will check-in your hotel and rest of the day free.

DAY 10: Bhubaneswar airport departure

Morning breakfast at hotel and later check-out and you will be transfer to Bhubaneswar airport in time for your flight to onwards destination.
