Hyatt to launch 14 new hotels in the upcoming 2 years in India

Hyatt has announced an expansion in India over the next 2 years. It will be doing this by adding more than 2100 guestrooms through the opening of more than 14 new hotels in different parts of the country. Apart from the advancement in the major cities, the company aims at developing cultural and leisure destinations.

The foreseen expansion will include hotels in 8 new markets of the country, by means of setting the presence of Hyatt brand over the next 2 years across 27 cities. VP of development- India at Hyatt, Dhruva Rathore asserted, “Hyatt is one of the longest-running international hotel management brands in India, the first Hyatt hotel in India opened over 30 years ago. Our heritage and experience in this complex market, paired with the strong relationships we hold with local developers and owners has helped make India one of the top three growth markets for Hyatt globally”.

The year’s expansion began with the introduction of Hyatt Centric brand through the launch of Hyatt Centric Candolim Goa in January 2019. The company plans to expand its footprint in Kerala with the opening of Hyatt Regency Kochi Malayattoor, a resort property on the banks of Periyar River and Hyatt Regency Thrissur, which will be the first premium hotel in the city. An opening is also expected in the Himalayas with the Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort in the second half of the year. Later on, the opening of the Grand Hyatt Gurgaon is scheduled in Gurgaon. More than 1000 guest rooms will be added to Hyatt’s existing properties in India through these hotels and will be marking the brand presence in 4 new markets.

  • Hyatt Regency Udaipur
