It is a well-known fact that the Taj Mahal is the major tourist attraction in India. Tourists from all across the world visit the country to catch a glimpse of the centuries-old architectural marvel. The good news is that now, tourists will be able to admire its beauty at night under the moonlight. As of now, the world-famous monument was open for tourists only during the five nights in a month but now it will remain open on full moon nights every month except for Ramadan (Ramzan), as well as for two nights on each end of the full moon night, for a total of five evenings per month. Currently, the monument is accessible to the general public from sunrise to sunset every day except Friday.

As per the statement of authorities, the initiative has been taken to allow visitors to explore the aesthetic beauty of the monument at its best. Referring to the change, Union Tourism and Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that they have been receiving a lot of requests to keep the monument open during nights and that they are dedicated to turning the dreams of people into a reality.

According to the news reports, the Tourism Ministry is also planning to illuminate the area around Taj Mahal and develop the infrastructure that will be necessary to manage the night rush. At present, the Tourism Ministry is busy in getting clearances for the new plan from various departments.
