Itinerary
The tour begins in Guwahati which is the largest city in Assam. You will find solace right after arrival as it’s located in the banks of Brahmaputra River. You will be taken to your respective guest houses/hotels to recharge yourself for a briefing session later on. This calls to gather your cycles and necessary things to hit the road for a cycle tour.
Refreshments and morning tea will set the tone for your next destination.
The next destination will be Cherrapunji, where you will be taken on a country boat after your morning tea. It will roughly take 6-7 hours and the arrangement for your overnight stay will be at a guest house or homestay.
It’s an interesting trek where you will climb around 3000 steps in order to reach the Root Bridge. You begin your journey from a starting point in Tyrna Village where you will drive after breakfast. This bridge will be unforgettable as the natural surrounding this place have made it stronger with every passing day. You will have to return back to Cherrapunji for the overnight stay at guest house/ homestay.
This location will highlight some memorable moments of your tour as the overnight arrangement is going to be a homestay. Also, because Mawlynnong is Asia’s cleanest village.
The final set up of the camp after day end will be a little ahead of Dawkii, it’s approximately 34 km away from Mawlynnong located along the banks of Umngot River.
The next location will be the capital of Meghalaya, Shillong. It’s another location where the cycle journey will spellbind you; the overnight stay is arranged at a guest house or hotel at Shillong.
