This is where the largest community kitchen in the world is housed. Open 24x7, the Langar feeds over eighty thousand people every single day free of charge. The experience is nothing short of magical on every step of the way, as you get to your place in the great hall to tasting the deliciously cooked meals of the Langar. In the end, you will be served the Karah Prashad, a semolina halwa that is deliciously rich in ghee and tastes absolutely sensational. Next, head over to Jallianwala Bagh, which is the site of the 1919 Amritsar Massacre. On these grounds, the British opened fire over an unarmed gathering of people, which included children. After the long afternoon, go for a refreshing lassi, yet another Amritsari favourite. The lassis, which you will enjoy in Amritsar, are extraordinarily creamy and thick, with one of the most surreal flavours, which could be found in a glass of lassi. Walk around the streets of Amritsar and explore the city by yourself. As night falls, move for dinner.
