Your 9th day with us starts off with a visit to Old Delhi, which was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1639 AD. Old Delhi is famous for the stores and markets, but the main attraction of this place is the massive choice of food items. After a filling experience in Old Delhi, we will help you to visit Raj Ghat, the place where the father of India, Mahatma Gandi, was cremated. Furthermore, explore and visit the museum nearby, which was built to commemorate him. After this, drive past the iconic Red Fort in the city, and ChandniChowk, one of the busiest markets of the city. Visit one of the largest and the biggest mosques in the country, the Jama Masjid. This mosque was built by Shah Jahan and is known for its architectural supremacy. In the afternoon, we will stop and explore India’s largest minaret, the QutubMinar. This monument is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built by Turk ruler, Qutub-Ud-Din Aibak in 1192.
Next, visit the best preserved Mughal monument in the country, the Humayun’s tomb. This monument is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses the remains of Humayun, a Mughal ruler of the country. Our next stop in the city is, the India Gate, which is built in the memory of a fallen, unnamed soldier. Next, drive past various government buildings in the city as well as the Indian Parliament.
Our last stop in the city is the Laxminarayan Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Narayana. This temple was built by Raja Baldev Das and its primary attraction is its Orissan-style of architecture and curved towers of the temple. Return back to the hotel and rest of the day is at leisure.
