Tour the Araku valley hill station in a tribal way

The project named “Giri Grama Darshini” is being carried out in Araku valley Andhra pradesh, which is among the tourist attractions of the state. The project aims at providing the tourists with an insight into the tribal lifestyle. The project will be positioned in Padalabudu, which is settled down at a distance of 6 km from the tribal museum at Araku. Under this project, 10 regular huts will be established in an area of 2 acres.

Tourists will have an opportunity of getting to know the lives of the tribals closely. They can opt for the activities suiting to their interests. Indoor activities include grinding and cooking the tribal food while outdoor activities comprise of bullock cart riding, rooster catching and pottery making. After the completion of the project, Padalabudu eco-tourism welfare society will be looking after the maintenance of the project.

The project is likely to lure more foreign tourists as they generally travel to Araku to enjoy hot air ballooning. Speaking on the event of the project launch, an official stated that, “We want the tribals to become entrepreneurs. The setting up of this tribal village will provide employment opportunities. Around 26 people are now working on setting up of the village activity project and the project is expected to be completed in two months.”
