Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Chhattisgarh in Surajpur District and derives its name from the most prominent features of the area - Tamor Hill and PinglaNalla. Considered as one of the virgin natural reserves and instances of the rich wildlife that the state has to offer, this sanctuary is raw and untouched, and completely away from commercial activities.

Wildlife Sanctuary in 1978, and was taken as a part of SurgujaJashpur Elephant Reserve by Chhattisgarh Government. Seven revenue villages fall under the sanctuary - namely Khond, Injani, Archoka, Durgain, Kesar, Chattauli and Dhaulpur with most of the villages consisting of less than 20 households. Since it is not much visited by tourists, the sanctuary area lacks proper communication services and hence adds to its raw and rugged factor more.

Located in the Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh, TamorPingla Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by the Moran River in the northern boundary while the eastern boundary is guarded by BongaNalla and Rihand River flows in the western boundary. Ghui and Biharpur ranges are covered under South Surguja Forest Division which accounts for its mixed deciduous forests. Sal and bamboo forests cover the entire forest making it lush green all over.

The fauna of the sanctuary is wide and varied with animals like Asian elephants, Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, bears, Sambar deer, wild boars, wild dogs, wolves, blue bulls, chital, bison, four-horned antelope, chinkara, barking deer, red jungle fowl, brown jungle fowl, Golden jackals, Striped hyenas, hare, cobras, nag, pythons, and green pigeon making it their home. Find yourself lucky to spot some of the major attractions like tigers, golden jackals and green pigeons, and keep your cameras ready to capture the moments. An old census done back in 1997 suggested that there were 11 tigers and 15 leopards in the sanctuary at that time. There are no further update reports of the same, but it can be comprehended that the numbers have definitely gone up.
