This 10 night /11 Days tour covers the historical & scenic places of Maharashtra.The Place Raigad tells you about their historical findings of great Marathas warriors & their victorious battles. Places will also give you the information about Hindu temples & Buddhist caves at Elephanta & Karla /Bhaja caves. Mahabaleshwar is the place which is a famous hills station destination. Alibag has its own history of Israel’s jew community who was living in this area and that’s the reason this place got the name after the famous businessman “Ali”. There are many other places in Maharashtra but then need more number of days to explore this beautiful historical state.

Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai by Flight

Welcome to India with our representative at the airport & you will be transfer to the hotel for check-in. Our representative will brief you about the next day program of Bombay city tour.
Rest of the day at leisure.
Mumbai earlier called “Bombay” is the finance capital of India and consist of seven archipelago islands such as Colaba, Old Women’s Island, Madgaon, Parel, Matunga-Sion and Mahim. Mumbai influences a huge number of tourists from across the world throughout the year for the purpose of pilgrimage, sightseeing or simply for an employment opportunity. It gets described as the city of peopling shrouded in wealth as well as people rolling in extremely poverty, where one can say highly posh area like Juhu and Cuffparade
Overnight Mumbai.

Day 02 : Mumbai

After breakfast, Early morning tour of Elephanta Caves & you will be transferred to the gateway of India and here you will embark a boat for half day excursion ( Note : Elephanta caves is closed on every monday) .
The Caves on Elephanta Island located in the Arabian Sea; about 10 km from the Mumbai Harbor are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves dating back to the 5th to the 8th century AD are divided into five Hindu caves dedicated to Shiva and two Buddhist caves.
This afternoon you will be visiting this Bombay city. Tour of Mumbai will take you to the Hanging Gardens located on the beautiful slopes of the Malabar Hills as well as Kamla Nehru Park offering a marvelous and panoramic view of the Chowpatty Beach as well as the Marine Drive. You will continue your tour and taken to Mani Bhawan, Prince of the Wales Museum, Gate of India and Dhobi-Ghat and will drive through Marine Drive, Flora Fountain and Crawford market.

Day 03 : Mumbai - Lonavala by road enroute visiting Karla caves & Bhaja Caves

After breakfast, Morning drive to Lonavala by private vehicle. Enroute visiting the caves of Karla and Bhaja. Arrive Lonavala & transfer to the hotel. Overnight Lonavala.
Karla and Bhaja Caves are located near Lonavala in Maharashtra. The Bhaja caves are regarded to be from the times of Hinayana phase of Buddhism, which is of 2nd to 1st century BC. These caves are also mainly Viharas and Chaityas and located just 3 km away from the main road amidst green surroundings. There is also a waterfall near the cave where tourists can refresh themselves with a dip.
Karla Cave The Karla Caves are Buddhist rock-cut shrines built from the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD and again from the 5th century AD to the 10th century. The caves houses a monastery from the 2nd century BC. The caves have large windows cut into the rock for lighting the interiors. The main cave has one of the largest rock-cut chaityas in India dating back to 1st century BC and features sculptures of male’s females, lions, elephants, etc. The cave complex has many chaityas and viharas. The caves have arched entrances and vaulted interiors and the exterior has detailed carvings

Day 04 : Lonavala

After breakfast, Drive to Lonavala. Lonavala - is a charming hill resort, 3 hours from Bombay and one hour from Pune. A quick weekend getaway to Lonavala has much to offer:beauty spots like Lonavala Lake, Bhushi Dam, Tigers Leap, Ryewood Park, Tungarli Dam, Barometer Hill, Khandala, the equally popular, nearby hill resort; and the famous Lonavala chikki.

Day 05 : Lonavala - Pune by Car

After breakfast, Morning drive to Pune by vehicle and stop enroute for refreshment like tea & coffee. Arrive Pune & transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Pune.

Day 06 : Pune

After breakfast, Today morning visit Pune city tour. Visit Singhagarh Fort, scene of one of Shivajis most daring battle, Temple, museum and the famous National Defence Academy. Aga Khan Palace ( Gandhi National Memorial).

Day 07 : Pune - Mahabaleshwar by Car

After breakfast, Morning drive to Mahabaleshwar by private vehicle. Stop enroute for refreshment like tea & coffee. Arrive Mahabaleshwar & transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Mahabaleshwar.

Day 08 : Mahabaleshwar

After breakfast, Today visit Mahabaleshwar, This is one one of the pretty hill station in Maharashtra which is often referred as the queen of hill stations in Maharashtra. This hills station offers panoramic view of the plains with the imposing sloppy peaks and surrounding woods. Mahabaleshwar constitutes three villages - Malcolm Peth, Old Mahabaleshwar and some part of the Shindola village. Overnight Mahabaleshwar.

Day 09 : Mahabaleshwar - Alibag by Car visiting Raigarh Enroute

After breakfast, Morning drive to Alibag by private vehicle visiting Raigarh enroute. Arrive Alibag & transfer to the hotel. Overnight Alibag.
Raigad which was earlier known as Rairi, Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj renovated and expanded the fort Rairi & renamed as Raigad Fort and this was the capital of the Marathas under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Britishers named it 'Gibralter of the East' as the well-fortified structure atop a hill that had repeatedly defied attackers. Shivaji built the fort in the 14th century.
Raigad Fort: The fort rises 820 metres (2,700 ft) above the sea level and is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. There are approximately 1737 steps leading to the fort. The Raigad Ropeway, an aerial tramway exists to reach the top of the fort in 10 minutes. The fort was looted and destroyed by the British after it was captured in 1818.

Day 10 : Alibag

After breakfast, Today visit Alibaugh, which is a coastal town and a municipal council in Raigad District of Maharashtra, India. It is the headquarters of the Raigad district and is south of the city of Mumbai. Alibag is part of Mumbai Metropolitan Region and is situated at a distance of about 96km from Mumbai and 143km from Pune.
Alibag and its surrounding villages are the historic hinterlands of Bene Israeli Jews. There is a synagogue in the "Israel Ali" and its is known as Israel’s lane. A Bene Israelite named Ali used to live there at that time. He was a rich man and owned many plantations of mangoes and coconuts in his gardens. Hence the locals used to call the place "Alichi Bagh"(Marathi for "Ali's Garden"), or simply "Alibag", and the name stuck.

Day 11 : Alibag - Mumbai by Car & Depart Mumbai by Flight for onward journey.

After breakfast, Morning drive to Mumbai, a drive of approx. 3 hours . Arrive Mumbai & drop at Mumbai international airport to board the flight to next destination. No hotel for this night.
