Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kozhikode Airport by flight and Kozhikode – Wayanad by road (90kms/ 3hrs)

Upon arrival from Kozhikode Airport, you will meet with our airport representative and transfer by road to Wayanad.
On arrival you will check-in your hotel and rest of the day free at hotel. Waynand is a most ruler district of kerala states; it is located with north part of the state and shares its border with Karanataka states. It is famous for its nature beauty tea and spice garden and Waynand wild life sanctuary. It is a hill destination, mountains and forest creates number of trekking and adventure sports for the tourist.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Wayanad village tour

After breakfast, you will have a tour of a small village Chetyalathor, which is totally oblivious to the modern ways of life. Here you will see the local tribal’s people are doing the farming with a traditional way using cattle and plow. Then you will see traditional mud homes which are decorated with beautiful paintings. Local people are involved with different kinds of professions such as pottery making, bamboo crafting, and other agriculture activities. Here you can buy some pottery and bamboo products. . During the tour you will be served some local tradition rice food. You will also
be visiting the local Creche called Anagavadi. At last, you will be visiting a primary school in the village; here you will get an opportunity to meet young students and teachers. Evening return back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Wayanad - Cochin by road (260kms/ 7-8hrs approx.)

After breakfast drive toward Cochin. On arrival you will check-in your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for you own activities.

Day 4: Cochin Village tour

After breakfast, you will have an excursion tour of Kumbalina village. It is a quiet village island known for rural tourism activities just 10kms from Cochin. Kerala government has promoted some rural activities in this village to promote tourism. Here you will be able to experience the local village life, including the boat ride of surrounding backwaters, meet with the local fisherman of the village and know-how they catch the fish with using of Chinese fishing net, explore the local village and mangrove forests, taste traditional food, meet with different artisans such as boatman, craft maker, and farmer. You can also enjoy the Kayaking in backwaters, river cycling, and many other activities in this village. Later visit the coconut factory where you will know the process of making the different types of products from Coconut.

Day 5: Cochin – Periyar by road (160kms/ 5-6hrs approx.)

After breakfast check-out from your hotel and drive toward Periyar. On arrival, you will check-in your hotel.
Periyar is basically known for its scenic beauty and its spice garden; here you will get wide ranges of spices like cardamom, pepper, Cloves, and Cinnamon. Moreover, it’s also famous for Periyar National Park, which is the home of many wild animals and birds.

Day 6: Periyar village tour

After breakfast, you will have an excursion tour of Valiyapara village, which is located in a remote area in Thekkady. Here you will a soft trek to reach this small village and covered with dense bamboo forest, paddy fields, and vegetable farms. Here local people are involved in agriculture activities, pappad making, beekeeping, and coconut farming.
Later you will be visiting Shanthigiri Ashram, which is located between the dense forests, and after having lunch there, you will get a chance to interact with a spiritual guru. Enjoy a tribal dance performance which is performed by local people.
Evening you will explore the local spice market of Kumily village, here you will know more about the different types of spices and their uses in different dishes.

Day 7: Periyar - Kumarakom by road (130kms/ 3-4hrs approx.)

Morning breakfast at hotel.
Later check-out and drive towards Kumarkom. On arrival you will check-in your hotel.
Kumarakom is located on the bank Vembanad lake and it’s famous for backwaters tours and the number of a luxury tourist resorts and hotels, which offers different types of activities to their guest such as kayaking, boat ride, cycling, spa and rejuvenate package and traditional Ayurvedic massages.
Later you will be visiting Kumarakom bird sanctuary, which is the homes of many species of birds and during the winter you can spot some migratory birds as well. Kumarakom is also known for its backwaters, (lagoons and canals), it’s delicious cuisine and its rice and coconut palm countryside.

Day 8: Kumarakom village tour

After breakfast explore the Kumarakom tourist village by boat and walking and you will visit this region in a very original way to surprise and participate in local life and you will capture this picturesque landscape, green and inhabited by millions of smiles.
There will several stops are planned during your tour such as the ascent technique on a coconut palm. You will be shown different methods of climbing to the top of the coconut tree. Coconut blossom water is known for its strong, almost alcoholic aspect. Here you happy to see, green fields, rice fields, and coconut palms and your host will make you taste this liqueur, straight from the flower of the tree. Local fisherman will teach you some tips for net-fishing. A friend armed with his bow and arrows will make you try traditional fishing. Then you will be visiting the different workshops like the art of weaving on coconut leaves, coir making processes. You will know how to make different products by screw pine.
Then you will have traditional meals of Kerala, which will be served on banana leaves. Later you will be visiting Kumarakom Bird sanctuary.
Evening return back to the hotel.

Day 9: Kumarakom – Kovalam by road (180kms/5-6hrs approx.)

After breakfast you will driver by road to Kovalam.
On arrival you will check-in your hotel and rest of day you can enjoy your hotel or explore the beautiful beach of Kovalam by your own.
Kovalam is small tourist town, which is located at the south part of Kerala state. Kovalam beautiful beaches are specially designed to promote tourism in India. Here you will get good hotel accommodation and resort from budget class to luxury class.

Day 10: Kovalam- Village tour

After breakfast you will have a village to near to Kovalam beach.
Here you will explore local dairy farms and its traditional way of dairy farming instead of latest machine. Here you can taste some fresh milk and other dairy products. Next you will be taken to crèche, called as Aganwadi in India, meet the some young children and their teacher. Then you will be visiting primary school. Later you will be taken to the unit which produces different product from coconuts, and then you will be visiting weaving factory, vegetable farms and fishing farming. Here you will see the local people will be making different products from spin coir like carpet, rope, bed- mattress, shoes, bags and furniture’s.
Evening you will be enjoying the spectacular show of martial arts called Kalaripayattu (1700hrs to 1900hrs)
Kalaripayattu is known one of the oldest serving martial art in India and here you will know the different techniques of self-defence/flight with and with weapons including sticks, swords, a three- bladed knife, and axe. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Kovalam – Trivandrum Airport departure

Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check-out and transfer in time for Trivandurm Airport for your flight to onwards destination.
