Nagaland state is among the beautiful seven sisters states. In this state we have covered various historical tribal places where you can see the artifacts, craftsmanship and their culture & traditions. Also about their courage who fought against the Britishers to resist the invasion in their region. You will be doing the excursion of various villages like KHONOMA – TOUPHEMA – MOKOKCHUNG – TUENSANG – MON. You will definitely explore the new finding in these places & it will be the memorable experience.

DAY 01: ARRIVE DIMAPUR – KOHIMA BY ROAD (APPROX. 3 -4 HRS)

On arrival at Dimapur you will be met by our representative and after then will be driven to Kohima and transfer to hotel. Overnight Kohima
Dimapur is a city in Nagaland and It is the most densely populated city in the state with an estimated population of about 250,000. The city is the main gateway and commercial centre of Nagaland.
This city located near the border with Assam along the banks of the Dhansiri River, Dimapur is the only plains region of hilly Nagaland and it also has railway station and airport for the connectivity.
Kohima was originally a large village named Kewhira, which is located in the northeastern part of the present day Kohima urban area.  Kohima officially became the capital in 1963 & also Kohima was the site of one of the battles of World War II. Kohima has a large cemetery known as the War Cemetery in Kohima for the Allied war.

KOHIMA – KHONOMA BY ROAD (APPROX. 1 -2 HRS)

Morning do the sightseeing of Kohima, you can go visit the World War II memorial and the state museum of Kohima. Later, you will be driven to Khonoma Village. Overnight Khonoma
KHONOMA Village : Green village,
Khonoma village is located about 20 km from Kohima. The village, referred to as Khwunoria ( The named after the Angami term ), It is approx. 700 years old village. The terrain of the village is hilly which has sloppy & steep hillsides This village is famous in the history because The Angami men of Khonoma, These Angami mens were famous for r their martial arts and strategic skills, They fought a battle against the British to safeguard their territory.
These village peoples resisted the British rule in their region from 1830s to 1880. Finally the battle stopped after the bloodshed battle between Angami men & Britishers and in the history this Village has marked their name in the pages of history that Indian resistance to the British colonial invasion.

DAY 03: KHONOMA TRIBAL VILLAGE

In the morning, you can go for a walk around the village and one can learn about different aspects of their lives. Here, you can see a unique water system where the water is piped long distances using Bamboos. Overnight Khonoma

DAY 04: KHONOMA – TOUPHEMA BY ROAD (APPROX. 1 -2 HRS)

The Touphema Tourist Village is one of the ancient heritage villages of Nagaland and is a wonderful recreation of a traditional AngamiNaga village. A recently refurbished Museum inside the village offers an collection of ethnic collections including wood carvings, musical instruments, textiles, handicrafts traditional artifacts, jewellery and archaeological finds.
After breakfast you will be driven to Touphema village. Here you can visit the museum displaying traditional jewellery, clothing and other artifacts. Overnight Touphema

DAY 05: TOUPHEMA

Your tour starts by interacting with the locals people and you can learn about their traditions and folk stories. Touphema has a number of wooden built traditional Angami houses and guests are welcomed with great Angami peoples hospitality. There are guided walks to go on to nearby peaks and paddy fields as well. Overnight Touphema.

DAY 06: TOUPHEMA – WOKHA – MOKOKCHUNG BY ROAD (APPROX. 4 -5 HRS)

Wokha is a town and it is the headquarters of its Wokha district and is located about 75 km north of the state capital Kohima.  
Morning you will be driven to Mokokchung. En route at Wokha, the district headquarters of the Lotha Nagas. You can visit the town and a ride to Mokokchung. On arrival transfer to hotel, rest of the day at leisure at hotel. . Overnight Mokokchung.

DAY 07: MOKOKCHUNG

Morning your tour will start by visiting Mopungchuket. Here, you can explore the museum and a church followed by a visit to Longkhum where you can walk the stone bridge and see the Doyang lake. After visiting these places , return to Mokokchung. Overnight Mokokchung

DAY 08: MOKOKCHUNG – TUENSANG BY ROAD (APPROX. 4 -5 HRS)

After early breakfast you will be taken to Tuensang. It is also the largest district of Nagaland and sharing the border with Myanmar country. It is located near the highest peak of Nagaland, Mount Saramati. On arrival, check in at the hotel or homestay and rest for the day. Overnight Tuensang

DAY 09: TUENSANG

Morning you can visit the tribal villages of Tuensang. You may also see the state animal of Nagaland, Mithun (bovine species )and also see the giant monoliths in Longtrok village. Overnight Tuensang.

DAY 10: TUENSANG – MON BY ROAD (APPROX. 7 HRS)

MON: This district is the home of the Konyak Nagas and it is interesting to see tattooed faces wearing feathers. Konyaks are artisans and skilled craftsmen. Here you can find the wood carvings, daos (machetes), guns, gunpowder, head brushes, headgear, necklaces, etc. made by these artisans and craftsmen. The most colourful festival of the Konyaks, "Aoleang Monyu Morning you will be driven to the northern easternmost part of Nagaland towards MON district. This is the land of Konyak tribe who once were once known as headhunters having tattoos all over their face and hands. This tribal people are also known famously for their muzzle loading guns. On arrival, you can rest for the day in the homestays. Overnight Mon

DAY 11: MON

Morning you can visit the chief’s house in Shangnyu village followed by a visit to Longwa village. This village sits in the Indo-Myanmar border. Return back to Mon after a little excursion. Overnight Mon
Shangnyu village
This village was Ruled by the chief Angh, Shangnyu which is is one of the prominent villages in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth and it is believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. Carvings of human beings and other creatures are engraved on this monument. Memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh's palace. Also in the records of the History that there was good and friendly relationships existed between Shangnyu and Ahom Kings.
Longwa village
Lungwa (Longwa), one of the biggest villages in Mon district on the International border of India-Myanmar , it has a road connecting it to "Loji" village in Myanmar’s Sagaing Division,This village has the home of chief, Angh, one half of the Angh's house falls within Indian territory, whereas the other half lies under Myanmar control. However, the whole village is controlled by the Angh and the village Council Chairman. This tribe of Naga people, known for tattooed face and Headhunting, extending up to Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh.

DAY 12: MON

After breakfast you can visit other nearby local villages. Overnight Mon

DAY 13: MON – JORHAT BY ROAD (APPROX. 4-5 HRS)

Morning you will be driven downhill from Mon to Jorhat, on arrival you can check in at the hotel and rest for the day. Overnight Jorhat

DAY 14: DEPARTURE FROM JORHAT AIRPORT FOR THE ONWARD DESTINATION.

You will be driven to jorhat airport for your connecting flights towards your destination. End of tour.
