Hassan is a city located in the district headquarters of Hassan district in Karnataka, and is nestled at an altitude of 3220 ft above sea level. Named after the famous temple, the Hasanamba Temple, built here, the city is extremely popular among tourists, pilgrims, and history lovers to name the most prominent ones.
The name of the city is derived from the Hasanamba Temple, the Hindu goddess Shakti or Amba.
