Day 01 Touch Down in Kolkata

You’ll be ushered to your hotel as soon as you touch down in Kolkata (Calcutta). This is a commercial city in India with lots of cultural history. While you’re here, you’ll pay a visit to Victoria Memorial. Other places of interest are Howrah Bridge, Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams, Secretariat Building and Old Court House Street. Also, the Dalhousie Square is another place that piques tourist interest and surrounded by Raj-era monuments—magnificent GPO, the regal Raj Bhawan, etc. Overnight will be in a hotel in Kolkata.

Day 02 Go by Flight from Kolkata to Bhubaneswar

You’ll be taken to the Kolkata airport to catch your Bhubaneswar flight and transferred to your hotel subsequently. This is where the holiday starts. Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha (Orissa). Some of the important places to visit are the Lingaraj Temple, Muktesvara, Rajarani Temple, and Ananta Vasudeva Temple.

You can also visit Khandagiri & Udayagiri caves if you so wish. Other interesting locations are the State Museum, which has artifacts, local arts, etc. Another thing that will interest you is the festivals celebrated here, like the Ratha Yatra, Saraswati Puja, Diwali, Shivaratri, Durga Puja Ganesh Puja, etc.

Day 03 Go by Road from Bhubaneswar to Balliguda

The journey from Bhubaneswar to Balliguda takes effect in the morning hours with a stopover in a few of the villages and bazaars. Odisha has a number of tribes with Kondhas being the largest tribe--- about a million people residing in and around Rayagada, Koraput, Balangir, and Boudh. Other tribes include Bonda, Kisan, and the Toppo tribe in Kutra village. You’ll stay overnight in a hotel in Balliguda.

Day 04 Go by Road from Balliguda to Rayagada

Today’s tour takes you from Balliguda to Rayagada. You’ll make a detour at Kutia Kondh and Dongariya Kondh villages. The people of Kondh are the largest tribe in Odisha; they love nature and make use of medicinal plants, preparing meals using sal and mahua seeds. Places of interest that you will visit are the hamlet of Kondh where you’ll find women adorning themselves with hairpins, ornaments, ear and nose rings and tattoos. You’ll stay overnight in Rayagada

Day 05 Go by Road from Rayagada to Jeypore

In the morning, the tour goes to the tribal market of Dhongria Kondh tribes where you’ll be driven from Rayagada to Chatikona. The Dhongria tribes are known for elaborate birth, marriage and death rituals and also synonymous with polygamy. Additionally, they love tattooing, with these people using ear and neck rings made of brass and iron. You’ll stay overnight in Jeypore.

Day 06 Jeypore Bonda tribes Gadaba tribes Jeypore

Today is the tour to Bonda and Gadaba tribes. The women of the Bonda tribes still hold on firm to their ancient way of life and they play a critical role in the society. The Gadabas happens to be a large tribe residing in permanent villages. You’ll stay overnight in a hotel in Jeypore.

Day 07 From Jeypore to Kunduli and Back to Jeypore

The excursion will be to Kunduli and you’ll later return to Jeypore later on. While in Kundli, you’ll have the opportunity to experience different tribes like Pareja---who are hunters. They are uniquely different from other tribes. They have various gods and goddess, with a popular belief that you give something to get something in return. You’ll stay overnight in Jeypore

Day 08 Go by Road from Kunduli to Tatapani

You’ll go from Kunduli to Tatapani, where you’ll visit Kondh tribes and the Laximipur village market. The Kondh are known to be good agriculturists, horticulturists, and craftsmen. The women love ornaments, using hairpins, nose rings, etc. They give great importance to deities and gods. You’ll stay overnight in a hotel at Tatapani.

Day 09 From Tatapani to Saora Tribes Back to Tatapani

The day begins with an excursion to Chandragiri and Mohana area to see the Saora tribes. They operate a nuclear family system and carry out marriages by force, negotiation or elopement. Their women are known for their hard work, helping with chores in the house severally. Overnight will be in Tatapani

Day 10 Tatapani to Chilka Lake to Puri

You’ll go by road from Tatapani to Puri and visit Chika Lake en route. While here, you’ll have a boat ride. Chika Lake (second largest coastal lagoon in the world) is critical for the survival of migratory birds. The lake offers great support to many fishermen from the nearby villages, also is a home to many reptiles and amphibians. You’ll stay overnight in a hotel at Puri.

Day 11 The Konark Temple Excursion and Tour of Puri

Your tour continues with a visit to Konark Temple also known as the Black Pagoda—built in black granite. This place is home to the Konark Dance Festival. You’ll return to Puri and have a Puri tour. Puri is popular as one of the holiest places for Hindus. You’ll stay overnight in a hotel at Puri

Day 12 Catch a Connecting flight to Kolkata

The visit to Dhauli Ashoka Rock Edicts is next. Dhauli is the most important place for Buddhist activities and this is where Ashoka fought the war. The significance of the Daya River is as a result of the spilled blood of the soldiers on water, making it turn red. Later on, you’ll be taken to the airport to board your flight from Bhubaneshwar to Kolkata. Arriving in Kolkata, you’ll be taken to your hotel where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 13 Kolkata

Day free. Check-out from the hotel at 1200 hrs. Evening transfer to airport for return flight
