India is a place where a person can witness a lot of different cultures, traditions and customs. On one side, this country offers you the chance to witness its tradition, on the other side, it also offers you unforgettable memories. West India is a combination of culture, ancestry sights and beautiful beaches which make this part of India a worthy visit destination. Here in this blog, I will suggest some interesting places in West India where you can enjoy your time at the fullest.
Mumbai:
Mumbai is a city which is located on the western coast of India near Arabian Sea. Mumbai, once known as “Bombay” is the largest city of India and also the capital of the state named Maharashtra. This city is also famous for its Entertainment Industry. India’s biggest film industry is in Mumbai. Also if you are a Bollywood lover, then this city will be a city worth visiting for you, as many Bollywood movies have been shot here.
Also the main attraction of this city is the monuments of this beautiful city. Here you can witness the beauty of Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Haji Ali Dargah , Sanjay Gandhi National Park and many more. If you are visiting Mumbai city, then don’t forget to visit Elephanta Caves. These caves are considered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Basically, it is a collection of cave shaped temples which is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva.

Aurangabad:
This city is also situated in the Maharashtra State. The Aurangabad is derived from the Name of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. This city is famous for its monuments, rich culture and traditions.
It is a tourist hub as you can find many historical monuments which includes Ajanta and Ellora Caves (Considered as UNESCO World Heritage Site), Bibi Ka Maqbara which looks like the replica of Taj Mahal, Daulatabad Fort, Aurangabad Caves and many more.
Pune:
Pune is in the Indian state of Maharashtra. This city is also known as “Poona”. The city is famous because of the great Maratha King named Shivaji Maharaj. This city is also famous by the name “Queen of Deccans”.
There are a number of monuments and places where you can enjoy your trip to the fullest. Some of them are as follows where you must visit:
· Shaniwarwada: An outstanding historical landmark of Pune and is also considered as one of the best tourist places of Pune. It was constructed in 1732 and was the main centre of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire.
· Vishrambaug Wada: A three storied building which is built by the last Peshwa – Bajirao II as his residence)
· Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple: This temple is dedicated to Hindu Lord Ganesha. Devotees from all over the world come here to receive the blessings of lord Ganesha. This temple is also engaged in some social welfare activities and some cultural development activities.
Shirdi:
Shirdi is a town in the state named Maharashtra. This is the residence of Sai baba. Shirdi is popular for the temple of Sai Baba. Shirdi is a peaceful village. Pilgrimages and followers of Sai Baba come from all over the world to receive the blessings of Sai Baba.
If you are visiting this peaceful place, then you must visit Dwarkamai Mosque, Gurusthan (Gurusthan is a hindi Word which means – “The place of teacher. This is the place where Sai Baba was first seen to the world.)
Goa:
If we are talking about the popular cities of West India, then Goa is one of the most famous cities amongst tourists all over the world. Goa is further divided into two parts: North Goa and South Goa.
Goa is famous for its beautiful beaches, happening Nightlife, Hospitality, Safety and Water Sports. There are so many beaches in Goa such as Baga Beach, Calangute Beach, Palolem Beach, Vagator Beach and many more.
Also if you are visiting Goa, then don’t forget to witness the beauty of Dudhsagar Falls in South Goa. Also if you are an adventure lover, then try some wáter sports like Kneeboarding, Kite Surfing, Paragliding, diving, etc.
Mahabaleshwar:
Mahabaleshwar is a small town in Satara district. It is a hill station which is situated in the Maharashtra state. If you are visiting this city, you will see many mountains which offer you the trekking opportunities. Here, in this city, you can visit the beautiful Pratapgarh Fort, Elphinstone Point, Wilson Point, Mount Malcom, Arthur’s Seat, Holy cross Church.
If you are visiting this city, then I recommend you to try the horse riding at Venna Lake as it will be a beautiful experience for you.
Well when I had the chance to visit this part of India last year, I chose Goa. I don’t know why but visiting this place always makes me happy. From the last year till present, I have visited this part 2 times. During my visit, I spent one week there. I also enjoyed some adventurous sports like parasailing and paragliding. I enjoyed the nightlife of Goa very much. I would also like to explore this city to its fullest in the coming years.
