1. Gangtey:
Gangtey, also known as Phobjikha, is a village on the western border of the Black Mountains, located in a U-shaped glacial valley. Locals travel to lower (warmer) locations during the winter season since it is frequently completely covered in snow. As a result, Spring and autumn are frequently the most popular times to visit Gangtey village.
During the winter, it is also home to endangered black-necked cranes. It’s one of those Bhutanese villages where you’ll find farmhouses and lodges. You may also visit Gangteng Monastery, which is located near the town, for a spiritual experience. The panoramic views of the pine tree forest can be enjoyed from this village.
2. Sakteng:

3. Dhur:
A visit to Dhur, which is only 50 kilometres from Chamkhar, is essential for anybody interested in learning about Bhutanese culture. The walking path that goes to Dhur Tsachu, where there is also a hot spring, is well-known. During the winter season, the Local Dhur Tshechu Festival is another reason for visitors to visit this place.
You’ll be surrounded by alpine woodland, sheep, yaks and a number of snow-capped peaks. Those who want to get the most out of camping should go during the spring or autumn season.
4. Ura:
Because of its ancient architecture, Ura village in Bhutan is another wonderful location for photography. The village is situated in one of Bhutan’s highest valleys, at a height of 3100 metres above sea level. Ura village is around 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Chamkar. This mountain town transforms into a snow-covered wonderland in the winter.
Furthermore, the entire valley blossoms with views of soul-pleasing flowers in the spring. Ura is a must-see for anybody interested in seeing Bhutan’s finest villages. It, like many other villages, is a spectacular trekking destination.
5. Khoma:
Khoma village, in the Lhuentse region, is a must-see for anybody interested in learning more about Bhutan’s textile industry and rural life. From Lhuentse, it takes around 30 minutes to reach Khoma. You’ll be fascinated by the breathtaking vistas along the way, which will be a pleasure for both your body and mind.
